Unique Wedding Venue in Kuala Lumpur – Slate at The Row KL

It’s been over a month and a half now since the wedding! Big Teddy and I were massively blessed with a wonderful and intimate ceremony with our family and friends at Slate at The Row KL. Why this particular venue? Slate at The Row KL is an event space located at Jalan Doraisamy that occupies 1940s pre-war shophouses, with a modern minimalist and industrial inspired chic space in a historical part of Kuala Lumpur. I’d been researching for many other event spaces, including hotel ballrooms and restaurants, but Slate at The Row KL fits most of the criteria that I was looking for, and I couldn’t recommend highly enough for couples who are looking for a blank canvas event space and let your creativity and ideas fill the entire space. Here are some pictures of our white & gold themed wedding party filled with lots and lots of fairy lights! A special thanks to Maxtography for most of the gorgeous pictures.

About Slate at The Row KL

An industrial-inspired space with 3,330 square feet (330 square metres) which is perfect for medium-scale wedding, corporate events, cocktail parties, media and product launch or art exhibition.

Built with high ceiling with plenty of natural light, it also has a mezzanine floor which was perfect for our ROM (Register of Marriage). Amenities included in this event space are air-conditioning, kitchen/pantry, washrooms, storage room, AV facilities with projectors, PA system and wireless microphones. We added an additional sound system for our dance floor as the music was a major part of the wedding.

Although the event space has the capacity to accommodate 150-180 pax seated or 200-250 pax standing, we only had about 90 guests for our wedding on Viking tables setup as I wanted a dance floor area and more space for the guests to move around.

As for parking spaces, there are plenty of open-air parking spaces for MYR6 per entry, located directly behind The Row (entrance located behind Chamber 3 so just follow the Parking signage). Alternatively, Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur Hotel across the road also offers indoor parking at higher charges.

Why I Chose This Venue

Slate at The Row KL is a modern yet maintaining its rustic charms, especially the white brick walls from the pre-war era. It was the perfect blank canvas that I could fully utilize to realise my visions for our wedding, and I got my dream fairy lights drapes as the main feature of our wedding party! The team at Slate at the Row KL was extremely easy to work with and flexible with the arrangements to make our wedding the best day ever. It was also pet-friendly, therefore, Bobo could join us for the party.

With a little imagination, this event space could be your dream comes true!
